The Asherah Institute

Why Asherah

A name rooted in ancient feminine power.

Asherah was an ancient mother goddess — a symbol of life, fertility, and renewal, often represented by a sacred tree.

The tree of Asherah reaches down through deep roots and up through branching growth — an image of transformation across the seasons of a life. We take her name to honor that lineage of feminine power that long predates the shame and stigma layered onto women’s bodies.

Our work returns to that older, truer story: that the changes a body moves through are not defects to be managed in silence, but thresholds to be met with knowledge, community, and care.
